I'm about to take a trip and am thinking about buying another camera so I can count on good pictures. I have read the manuals and books and tried changing settings but am still disappointed in the pictures. None of us understand it--I was always so proud of my pictures.
I have been extremely pleased with each one as I have moved up the ladder over the years. Since day one I have not been able to get an indoor picture that was worth keeping and many of the outdoor shots are even blurry. I have owned digital cameras since they first came out.
My daughter who had designated me the family photographer won't let me take pictures at important events anymore because she claims the pictures from my "new" camera are so bad. From: SO DISAPPOINTED. I had never owned a Canon but researched at great length before I purchased this one.
Everyone seemed to rave about the quality of the pictures they were getting with this camera.
I bought this after seeing how fun my dad's 850IS was. The camera is still alive and kicking.I take pictures of everything (switched from copying to picturing).
The only drawback for me is the chuncky body compared to the 850. My fav function on this camera is color accents and micro mode.There is a matching Canon under-water housing for this camera if you are an outdoor person.
First of all, nothing beats that clear, bright, vibriant colored 3" LCD screen. Dropped it twice on hard floors over 3-feet height.
But that's not enough to make me take 1/2 of the star off. I've been a loyal customer of Canon cameras.
I've had this camera for almost 2 years now.
Too bad Canon got caught up in the megapixel war with these point and shoots and ruined image quality on the newer models.I'm a professional photographer with 20K in gear and this is the point and shoot i use. I tried three newer more expensive models and returned them.had to search for a used one and found it.
I bought this camera in the US, if you want to buy one in India, you can head straight for the ones on discount at Shetala Cameras or at Canon X'perience, which is Canon's original store. I absolutely love the 3 inch display screen and don't miss the Optical viewfinder at all - honestly, I have no need for it.All in all, this is a great camera for those who are looking for a simple camera to take all those photos of family outings, dinners and forays into the wild. The camera is compact and is very easy to hold in your hand and to carry.
I loved the camera, but I had a few complaints with it - it had a tiny LCD display, had a pretty high response time, and was not really the most compact of cameras around.I finally decided that it was time to buy a newer camera but this time I wanted one that was compact and easy to work with - a Point-and-Shoot camera as it is called. It has been a few months since I bought it and here I am to report its performance - Outstanding. I own a Canon Powershot S1 IS (bought at the time that was launched) and have stuck to that loyal Digicam thus far.
The shoot response time between one photo and another is really quick and the camera itself turns on within a second making all the surprise photos possible - like the ones I had to take at the National Park a couple of weeks ago when Deers and Elephants crossed our path. I will make it sure never to buy anymore canon cameras or sure.My canon SD870IS has stopped working within one year of its use, the same old Lens Error issue.My understanding is that this is a common error for Canon cameras.
